Chris Stephens, Former MP for Glasgow South West
Rather than this being a freelance post, for the past two years, I have been working part-time for Chris Stephens, the former MP for Glasgow South West. Working within a busy constituency office, I managed Chris’s social media, produced videos, newsletters, and leaflets, and handled both content creation and design, ensuring everything was inclusive and accessible. I created templates to allow colleagues to create on-brand materials. Additionally, I assisted constituents by raising their cases with the relevant authorities. I attended surgeries and meetings, took notes, and liaised with constituents and community organisations. I utilised Grantfinder to secure funding for constituency groups and wrote support letters on Chris’s behalf for organisations applying for grants.

As part of a team, although this was my primary responsibility, I designed graphics and videos for Chris’s social media. Chris observed an increase in engagement on his social media channels, which I attribute to my scheduling of posts at peak times. By using Buffer to schedule posts, I was able to implement a marketing plan effectively. I also made full use of alt tags to ensure accessibility.
